Turquoise Acid Dye

10 gms skein sock yarn
20ml (1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon) Turquoise Dye Stock
Water
1 teaspoon Citric Acid
- Dye Stock
1 teaspoon Turquoise Acid Dye Powder
(Note: Remember to wear a face mask when handling dry dye powder)Water
Directions
- Follow the instructions to pre-soak the yarn in Citric acid
- Make dye stock by adding 1 teaspoon of the Acid Dye to 500 ml Water and stir until dissolved
- Add 1 teaspoon of Citric Acid to 1 litre of Water
- Untwist yarn and add to Citric Acid water and soak for 1 hour
- Add 2 cups of water to a pan
- Add 20ml dye stock to the pan (1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon)
- Add yarn and gently simmer for 20 minutes until the water is clear
- Leave to cool
- Rinse, dry and admire
